Summary of Japan-Albania Relations, 1981-2005

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Albania in 1981 the dealings between the two countries have remained few and distant. By 2005 there had yet to be any truly significant developments in the direct bilateral relationship.

Economic and Trade Relations

In 2006, Japan exported automobiles and other vehicles to Albania worth about US$4 million. Albania exported tobacco and other goods worth about US$500,000.
