Japan-Indian Muslim Relations

Summary of Japan-Indian Muslim Relations

The Muslims of India have had a substantial relationship with Japan over the years, and were particularly prominent before the Pacific War. In particular, Indian Muslims played key roles in the establishment of some of the first mosques in Japan, and they provided political leadership for the early Muslim communities inside Japan.

Economic and Trade Relations

Indian Muslims still play an economic role in bilateral trade relations, but it is impossible to know precisely what portion of Japan-India trade can be attributed to their efforts.
