Economic and Trade Relations

In 2005, economic and trade relations between Japan and Kazakhstan were modest, but the balance of trade was in Kazakhstan’s favor. In that year, Japan’s exports to Kazakhstan were valued at about US$178 million (mostly automobiles and mining equipment); and Japan’s imports from Kazakhstan totaled about US$335 million (mostly ferrochrome ore).
