Muslims under Russian rule have played a significant role especially before 1945. The most prominent of these was Abdurresid Ibrahim, who was a critical figure in the history of Japanese-Islamic relations. This page will consider any new interactions between Japan and Russian Muslims, as well as the role of Russian foreign policy in other aspects of Japanese-Islamic relations.
