Japan-Thailand Relations

Summary of Japan-Thailand Relations

Thailand is an overwhelmingly Buddhist nation, but one of the key challenges that it faces relates to troubles in the south where local Malay-Muslims live. There are almost three million Muslims in Thailand, or about 4.5% of the entire national population. Japanese relations with these regions are minimal.

Economic and Trade Relations

There is very little trade between Japan and the Muslim sections of Thailand.
