The Shingetsu Newsletter chronicles current events and research on Japanese-Islamic relations. The newsletter began on June 1, 2005, and has recently been averaging between thirty to forty issues per month. The author of the newsletters, unless otherwise noted, is Executive Director Michael Penn. The newsletter is distributed by e-mail directly to more than 170 people worldwide, including academics, journalists, diplomats, and others. Available here are the archives of older newsletters. Membership is currently free and open to any who take a serious interest in the topic of Japanese-Islamic relations. All viewpoints are welcomed, so long as the discussions are constructive and relevant to the purposes of the Shingetsu Institute.
