NEW
BOOK: ARANI ON “KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN JAPAN
I
would like to introduce a new book that has just been published
in Iran. The title is “Modiriyate Danesh,” or, in
English, “Knowledge Management.” The main subject
of the book is the higher education system in Japan.
The
author of the book is Dr. M. D. Sarkar Arani, who is currently
studying in Nagoya University. I have contacted the author, and
this is his description of the book:
“I
think that the book brings a Japanese experience to Iranian society
and helps them to understand the Japanese situation better. Japan,
as I introduce in the book, is now in period in which they can
create knowledge, and most universities in Japan are research-based.
On the other hand, Iran is still in the phase in which we are
still seeking knowledge, and most universities are teaching-based.
In light of this, I analyze in the book what can be learned from
the Japanese experience, which in the past, like Iran, was once
seeking knowledge and teaching-based. In this way, I hope that
Iranian universities can soon create their own knowledge and become
more research-based in higher education.”
The
book seems interesting, and so I hope that anyone who is interested
in Japan-Iran relations (and can read Persian) will try to obtain
this book.
