THE SHINGETSU BIBLIOGRAPHY IS READY FOR ORDER!

The Shingetsu Bibliography of Japanese-Islamic Relations is now ready for shipping to anyone who wishes to purchase a copy. For those of you who don’t know about it, the bibliography is written in English, but it covers books, articles, and other materials written in many languages. In total the bibliography is 283 pages in length, and it covers all aspects of Japan’s relations with the Islamic world. I estimate that there are about 3,000 separate entries in the bibliography.

The price per volume is 3,000 yen plus postage, if necessary. In practical terms, that means the following:

At the Shingetsu office:

3,000 yen

For shipments inside Japan:

3,340 yen

For international shipments:

US$42.00

Unfortunately, postage costs outside of Japan are pretty steep, so the price is not as reasonable as I’d like it to be for those of you who are outside of Japan. Nevertheless, if you are a serious researcher on Japanese-Islamic relations, I think that you’ll find it to be well worth the money. It took me about five years to compile it and is already useful to me personally.

Anyway, those who want a copy should let me know and I’ll send it out shortly. Payment should be by cash or money order. We’re on the honor system here, so I’ll send you the bibliography before payment is actually received.
