KOBE STEEL RECEIVES A LARGE ORDER FROM OMAN

Kobe Steel -- Japan’s fourth-largest steel company -- has announced that they have received a US$220 million order to build Oman’s first steel plant. The plant will be designed and constructed on behalf of Shadeed Iron and Steel LLC by the Japanese side. This order is part of a larger Omani project to build up the Suhar Industrial Port northwest of Muscat.

The new steel plant is expected to begin its operations in October 2008.
