The 283-page Shingetsu: Bibliography
of Japanese-Islamic Relations (2005) brought together in
one place all published resources on Japan’s relations
with Islamic peoples, with the exception of articles in daily
newspapers. The basic language of this bibliography is English,
but an attempt was made to include relevant work published in
any language. The bibliography is organized alphabetically by
author or editor and separated into six categories as follows:
Books: Substantial volumes with significant coverage of Japanese-Islamic
relations are included in this category.
Theses and Dissertations: Reports submitted
by students to obtain a Master of Arts or Doctor of Philosophy
degree are included in this category.
Government Documents: Published and unpublished
official documents produced by agencies of sovereign governments
are included in this category.
Published Articles: Both academic and journalistic
articles found in periodicals or in edited volumes are included
in this category.
Internet Publications: Articles and reports
published only on the internet are included in this category.
Reports from daily news services are excluded.
Pamphlets and Unpublished Papers: Pamphlets,
unpublished papers, and other miscellaneous materials are included
in this category.
